In 2022 with six teachers and two instructional aids for just 29 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, Oregon's Long Creek School is unique
But it’s more than a great learning center with a high teacher-to-student ratio; it is the social and cultural heart of our community. The school is a tremendous source of pride to students, parents, teachers and everyone in our tight-knit, rural area, making it a place where local traditions stay alive and great memories are made every day.
Research clearly links the involvement of both family and other adults in the community with higher levels of student success and improved student behavior. Studies also show student achievement to be greater in smaller schools with smaller classes.

While this is a very rural area, there’s plenty to do. Students can compete in athletics, participate in school plays and productions, take part in community activities and experience our unlimited outdoor recreational opportunities – all within a safe and supportive environment.
